Painting landscapes in Acrylic with spatial rendering and chromatic depth

The objective of this tutorial is to recreate an effect of spatial depth thanks to the tonal and chromatic gradualness of the various planes. The real subject is not the landscape but the "air" which filters and uniforms colors and shades as the distance increases. Starting from the sky-colored background, you will have to create three more background levels (starting from the background towards the foreground) using a gradation that goes from cold colors to warm colors and increasingly intense tones as it gets closer to the viewer.

Required material

1 sheet of acrylic (or watercolor, rough) of 300gr of at least 30x40 cm.;
1 flat brush of 4-6 cm; various fur or synthetic brushes, wet palette, acrylic colors and water.
Secure the sheet to the board with masking tape or work on your acrylic album.
Draw the landscape in pencil, only the main lines and contours.
Wet the sheet with clean water, use a 4/6 cm brush or the largest soft brush you have.
First step: preparation of the sky-colored background, very liquid (almost like a watercolor)
Second step: place the local tints and bases, starting with the lightest shaded backgrounds and progressing towards the closest ones with more intense colors.
Third step: add the main shadows, the midtones (the mids), and start modeling the details.
Finishing: Add the lightest tones, highlights and darkest highlights to finish the job. (N.B.: keep the absolute whites only for reflections and light points; apply it dry, without diluting with water.)
